OX: I still could be wrong. but it looks to me. Merger & deal making has picked up. Albeit some of the recent premiums have been quite lowballish. IMO many efficiencies have already taken place in all sectors because of slow growth. It only makes sense to integrate weak competitors now. I've said it before. When margins sink, consolidations can help with that. This by eliminate customer choices. It sometimes can also give competitors strength depending upon the complexity of the manufactured product That's if and when the customer begins searching for new alternatives. I think the customer searching for alternatives takes time especially in high tech. Due to close relationships and new product qualifications. If this market stays strong. Private equity IMO should be reaping the benefits of IPO's and looking for new places to park their money. Although it seem the US is just hobbling along. I think foreign companies just might be thinking it's a good time to expand or enter US operations. This in light of a weak European & China Markets, and better safety of their investments. Plus a lot of of geopolitical uneasiness doesn't help over-sea's expansion efforts at home base. It also looks like the US companies will be shopping for the oversea's business just like Warren Buffett did today?

P.S.
Just a thought. Maybe it might be M & A deal-making that will drive the next leg of this market up?

Why? because IMO its very simple. a big part of economies are still dependent on people and companies that serve them. Gold can be a safe haven, but eventually you have to put food on the table and convert to some kind of currency I think.
