Here is what I guess about winning at poker. We make a mistake when we think our conscious mind is what we are. It just sort of watches us. It is our unconscious mind that is doing most everything. And it is much smarter. We know this because people can do things when the left frontal lobe gets injured that would be impossible for any normal person to do.

Perfect memory, amazing calculation abilities and seeing a picture of a city and then drawing a perfect replica including the right number of windows. But the unconscious mind needs information. So if a person just keeps pushing information into their head the unconscious mind will process it.

I read a zillion books on poker by the best players in the world and didn't feel like I was getting much of anything. But then when I was playing I seem to come up with plays I remembered.

The same is with concepts. To "see" existentialism it just requires putting tons and tons of information into your head. Then some day out comes the picture.

Exactly what Einstein did before he saw relativity. Ten years of day and night filling his head with every viable physics theory in the world. Things like waves and fields and particles and forces.

And then one day he saw it in his minds eye, just like that. It is how it happens with very abstract concepts.

Point being people don't need to worry if they read something and don't get it on their conscious mind, the unconscious mind is getting it and will spit out answers later. And it is cumulative. The unconscious mind categorizes and files information and creates systems.

One just has to keep going and it will come. Most have little interest in doing that. Even the intellectuals. Many intellectuals think you can hold knowledge in your hand. You can't.

Will Durant saw that at the end of his life. All ones sees more an more clearly is the amorphous relativity of life.
