Charles,
I know that this thread is long in the tooth but I can't help it. Let me say that I am married, have a step-son, work in the Silicon Valley. When I get home I enjoy sitting down to a game like Civ II or Imperialism. They don't require time frames to finish and so what if I have to come back the next day? That's what a save feature does for you. Consider this. They say that the average American is spending at least 25 hours a week in front of the TV. Well, TV is mostly crap so what most of them are looking for is a diversion. You can only stand so many mindless sitcoms so computer games such as what I mentioned are perfect entertainment for someone just looking for a little escapism. Hey, I am 38 and I meet my responsibilities, go to night school, own and upkeep a home and two cars and we have a cat. Does that qualify as an adult without a lot of time on his hands? Just wondering because I must be in that strange but small demographic of adults who do all those things and play strategy games. Believe me, I have friends over to my house who don't have even the slightest clue that you can play games on a PC. That's where the undiscovered market really is. Whenever I plug a CD in and show them any strategy game, they are immediately hooked. Anyway, I have never been overwhelmed by life's surroundings to keep me from having a little fun on the side and these games provide that. I am not alone.
