Unfortunately, the answer does not match my question. My question is "why did he succeed.......". Your response answers the question " why did he decide to take up the issue of a failing auto industry". Besides, even the answer you provided is a typical answer from someone who is only engrossed in political ideology thereby blinding the facts of the issue.

Obama just cares for himself first and not so much for any political ideology. I am sure many Congressional Democrats will agree with that statement. I do not fault him for that. After all, his office is directly answerable to the people. So when he took up the issue of a fundamental US industry, his moves to achieve success was based on the reality on the ground and not some some vague political ideology. And I will rest my case now and rely on your ability to figure out the rest.

And that is why I support him always because I am convinced that he will do what is best for the most of us and not just for my political ideology only.
