To all:

Just a bit of an update on the G* business model. When first proposed, G* planned on having 50% of their business in mobile phones, and 50% in fixed applications. This was revised to 75% mobile and 25% fixed. It now appears that mobile demand is higher than expected. For your information, margins on mobile calls are higher than those on fixed. For instance, in India, 80,000 subscribers were planned for. Local partners are telling G* that all this capacity will be utilized for mobile applications. That leaves great demand for rural fixed telephony--this demand will be met by using Loral GEO satellites(good for LOR) as an extension of G*. This also indicates that demand for G* service will be greater than expected. Good news for both companies.
