How is that moving the goalposts? When new jobs are needed, government can create them. When jobs are in danger of being lost, government can save them.

The government sent us to the moon. I'd say it did that pretty well. Was that "preserving the status quo?"

It didn't matter what the TVA produced? It didn't matter what the CCC produced? They both made the country a better place AND created lots of jobs.
