I still hold a full equity position, which is deeply underwater, for the long term. There must be a way to prevent strategic defaulters from reestablishing their credit so they can steal again. Run up the credit card or gamble on real estate appreciation then strategically default has turned into a strategy for the thieves to dump their debt onto the shareholders.
