You know, I understand for a lot of people that is what drives the decision. I hope for them that "Where can I live cheaply?" is not the main question that they ask... the cosmicforce has other needs - I want scenery, good weather, fresh vegetables, a cultural match, low crime, clean air, and a fair number of other things.

Somebody who wants "cheap" may not be always getting a value... the list below reads like a who's who of crappy places. JMO. I've been to a number of these places and know why they don't cost much to live there. The other ones I suspect have similar issues. There is a reason some places are cheap. No offense to anyone who loves one of these places, BTW.
