Hi, Elk. It's my experience that a fifth letter added to a symbol indicates something to the brokerage community and is imposed by the exchange upon which it is primarily traded. I wasn't aware of it having been added since my live quotes at my home/office are still showing SSAX as being "good 'nuff" to get live quotes.

Buried somewhere on my desk is a list I found in WSJ some years ago which gave the 5th letter breakdown alphabetically. I'll see if I can turn it up if no one else pops up here to answer you better before I can get back to you, OK?
