Nice post. It pains me to agree with silkscreen, but he is right. Although some people who are full of shit don't even know it; it is hubris for the most part. I frequently post things about topics I don't know enough about, trying to use my general experience from other facets of life. It doesn't always work. The overconfidence also kills. I had a fairly large short-term short bet against AMR and it worked perfectly until I overstayed. My original analysis and thesis were correct for the time but that changed and I did not pay enough attention. I am sure that has happened to many of us. I do however find that a large percentage of posters do post to deceive. Either that or they are simply incompetent.

Silk, who has spoken derogatorily of me in the past (mostly deservedly although with too much venom), says all of this in a much more humorous way than I can.
