C02 & products of combustion are absolutely toxic to oxygen breathing life, in one sense a poison but is about concentration levels which so far have been growing but so far managed to be absorbed by the ocean & forests . A matter of when those natural absorbtion wells reach saturation, as Solon simply stated a matter of ratios & rates which when exceded, the possibility for real damage starts. By the time you know those rates are exceded that damage especially in the oceans really becomes problematic.
Politics & you're ranting aside, the "rightness" is about the attempts to monitor our own footprint on the world's ecosystems by looking ahead, something the "godly" should certainly be for. Already has created far better managment of resources, inspired more effecient transportation technologies, less deadly chemical coatings, far greater industrial production efficiencies while saving entire fisheries while also vastly improving air quailty around large urban areas. In every case a win win for the public.
Some gov't overspending in implementing these Air & Water quality policy, sure, look at everything else they do, no surprise. |
