Warning all: ETrade would appear to be in the process of ratcheting margin requirements on certain options. They have always been much worse than Ameritrade and others having 100% margin stocks which became 50% margin options, but with their new upgrades to margin reporting, they have now moved some options to 100% margins, or in some cases, other names in between. I just had a modest-sized margin call triggered by this action. One stock, ITMN, has been the picture of stability for 6 months now, and a position I have historically done well with. Now 80%. I can either endeavor to reduce activity to let this thing mature and save mid 4 figures from hitting 2 asks on a strangle while receiving only 5% on capital for two months (1/3 or so of my hurdle rates not that I achieve such rates) or move accts I guess. It may be time. Interim step will be to activate portfolio margin option but they close one acct and open another and I just hate the recordkeeping aspect of that.

PS. I was in process of large withdrawal from account too. Ugghhhh. I needed the dough to fund US costs even though I have more money in cash in HK.
