Re: Entire savings in Intel

My situation is similar to yours. In Jan. 95, I suggested we invest our entire savings in Intel, but my wife vetoed the idea. Intel has gone from 30 to 95 in that time period. Strangely enough, our substitutes have moved even higher (I married a genius!).

If you really believe Intel is a great company, go ahead and invest it all there and feel good about yourself. However, I think your money is in better hands with Cisco. Intel has a 12 month growth rate of 17% and a P/E of 22. Cisco has an 80% growth rate for 5 years straight and a P/E of 40. In 4 years, Cisco will pass Intel as the #2 company in Santa Clara County. Four years after that, they'll be the #1 company in the county. You won't have to wait until you're 65 to retire!
