to address each of your issues, its potentially true that amdahl
should disolve the name, but not until they decide who they want
to be. its clear they havent made up their minds yet.

more to the point, one of their biggest failings (i think) is
their (near) complete lack of advertising. they liked to view
themselves as a "conservative" company. so conservative, no one
i talked to could figure out what they did, even back when they
had a clearly defined product. they dont have much experience in
the way of PR so i wouldnt count on that to give the stock a good
kick.

as i've probably said before, amdahl has inspired the highest
levels of my cynicism. but i've been surprised before; maybe
they'll make an astounding comeback, who knows?
