Don, thank you for the reply.....

Here is how I determine if a stock is transitioning from 2 to 3

The overall headlines for a stock gradually shift from very negative to neutral and then to positive.

Nokia is a good example of this transition. Now the headlines are somewhat positive.

WFR is another example....because of the solar business the nature of the headlines is changing.to very positive

Corning is another example.....nothing but good headlines for the past four to six months. Now the stock is catching up to the headlines. About 6 million shares of GLW traded in the last ten minutes on Friday.

AMAT will be getting more notice and attention because of their participation in the solar business.

The biggest problem with the solar business is financing. Just look at Solar City (SCTY). Once they announced about 50 billion dollars of financing for future projects the stock became a rocket. AMAT is in almost the same boat. Once the analysts make this solar association with AMAT its off to the races.

Nothing scientific here, no massive number crunching, or unique chart interpretations.......just headlines.

I'm long AMAT, WFR, Corning....took a bite of some Apple around 600/share..and choked on the core when it got 400/share.
