TAN RANGE EXPLORATION CORPORATION ANNOUNCES CONTINUED SUCCESS AT ITETEMIA
VANCOUVER, Dec. 5 /CNW/ - Tan Range Exploration Corporation Alberta Stock Exchange Symbol: TNX Tan Range Exploration Corporation is very pleased to announce the continued success of its exploration drilling program at Itetemia along the Golden Horseshoe Reef, a quartz-pyrite exhalative horizon adjoining Sutton Resources' world-class Bulyankhulu gold deposit in central Tanzania. Five additional diamond drill holes were recently completed on the Itetemia Property, indicating a massive alteration zone containing very significant concentrations of ore grade gold. The Golden Horseshoe Reef itself was originally discovered in March of this year. Since drilling commenced in August, a total of thirteen diamond drill holes have been completed. The diamond drill confirmed strike length of this massive and pervasive mineralization now extends to 300 metres and to a vertical depth of 100 metres. The latest five drill holes have extended the previously announced diamond drill proven 200 metre strike length of the zone by 35 metres to the west and by 65 metres to the east. The zone remains open in all directions. Economic gold grade at 100 metres below surface was intersected by Hole ITDD-22. This hole was drilled between two previously released shallow diamond drill holes and confirmed the presence of ore grade mineralization at a vertical depth of 100 metres. The interval of 128.0 to 133.6 metres, a core length interval of 5.6 metres, assayed 7.7 grams Au/tonne and includes a 3.9 metre interval grading 10.1 grams Au/tonne. Fire assays were completed by SGS in Tanzania with 10% of the samples to be check assayed by Acme Analytical Laboratories in Vancouver, B.C. While assay check results are pending, we are very encouraged by the impressive findings obtained in Tanzania. See following table. In addition to these very favourable diamond drilling results, IP (Induced Polarization) surveys have now extended the previously announced 1200 metre long IP anomaly associated with the gold bearing quartz reef by 1000 metres, for a new total length of 2200 metres. Reverse circulation drilling along this IP anomaly has now delineated the gold bearing reef for a distance of 800 metres. A fence of reverse circulation holes drilled 60 metres east of the last diamond drill hole has intercepted the gold mineralized quartz reef. To the west, a fence of reverse circulation holes drilled 440 metres past the last diamond drill hole has also intercepted the gold mineralized quartz reef. In view of the excellent results and the exceptional potential of the Itetemia discovery, the management and Board of Directors of Tan Range have decided not to complete the acquisition of the Wyldsdale deposit in Swaziland. The Wyldsdale project will now revert back to JCI Ltd. At Itetemia, diamond drilling and reverse circulation drilling along the 2200 metre long IP anomaly was temporarily suspended because of extremely heavy rains. << ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Grid Section D.D. Note to Borehole ITDD-23 From 60.07 to 60.85 (a 0.78 metre width) returned an assay of 102 grams of gold per tonne. This assay was cut to 10.2 G/T for drill intersection calculations.
