LeoNovus (LTV-V) runs security audit for Dark Core data centre
www.leonovus.com

May 22, 2013 - News Release

LeoNovus Inc. has completed a third party security audit as well as other milestones to officially move its Dark Core technology-enabled distributed data centre to LTV Gateway devices currently deployed in Stratford, Ont., and in office buildings in Ottawa and California for commercial use. This validation certifies that LeoNovus is offering "best of class" security for meeting banking-level standards when supporting customer data for cloud services at the edges.

The LeoNovus software platform delivers full Internet access to provide unique, cost-effective solutions via a multiplicity of connected devices, enabling multisource revenue streams for services and applications in the entertainment, home management, hospitality and health care market segments. LeoNovus has extensively tested and now meets third party security requirements that its proprietary disruptive multicore technology is commercially viable. This technology allows for full and efficient utilization of idle processors or Dark Cores within and across hardware systems for purposes of delivering fast, secure and cost-effective cloud services at the edges. Initial customers in Canada and California will first utilize storage, followed by taking advantage of the LeoNovus compute capabilities for smart analytics of their data.

"LeoNovus offers increased security and disaster recovery across geo-dispersed end-nodes with high-level redundancy and a default setting at 70-per-cent device failure before experiencing any impact," said Dan Willis, chief architect of LeoNovus. "This approach has a high level of reliability and unlike traditional data centres that can be completely knocked out by storms or other unpredictable disasters, this will have immediate recovery due to redundancy across a broader physical area. Furthermore, our approach breaks files into small atomic elements that are encrypted and deployed across a physically dispersed network with no single device ever having the entire file."

"We're living in a world where data is doubling every two years, and consumers and organizations will create and replicate 1.8 trillion gigabytes of data (1.8 zettabytes) this year alone. Extrapolate these numbers over the next several years and you have unimaginable amounts of data that need managing," stated Gordon Campbell, chairman and chief executive officer of LeoNovus. "The LeoNovus SMART Media software and Dark Core technologies present a game changer that impacts multiple markets using vast amounts of data. Consumers and companies now have a means to harness the processing power within their environments to efficiently and cost-effectively manage data and create personal or proprietary networks without the high cost of power, cooling and real estate."

LeoNovus aims for hotels, hospitals as its next market

May 2nd, 2013 - News Release

LeoNovus Inc. in entering into two large, multibillion-dollar global markets: hospitality and health care. The LeoNovus SMART Media "Software as a Platform" enables full browser-based Internet access to multiple connected devices enabling multisource revenue streams from services and applications for entertainment, home management, and now the hospitality and health care market segments. LeoNovus has also integrated its proprietary disruptive multicore technology, which allows for full utilization of idle processors or "Dark Cores" within and across hardware systems for purposes of delivering cloud services at the edges, which include compute cycles and storage. This technology delivers enhanced and efficient networking capabilities, which lowers costs while offering new revenue streams to MSOs and municipalities. LeoNovus can now offer this same functionality as private distributed cloud services to handle highly sensitive data and compute processing within an internal private network for the health care and hospitality market segments.

Hospitality

The browser-based software SMART Media platform delivers a full suite of in-room infotainment, which provides the opportunity to monetize lazy assets by offering just-in-time services and updates, in-room dining as well as promotional advertising without printing or updating large binders. The easy-to-use interface and full browser also allow for access to personalized and localized content whether it is communication based such as e-mail or sourcing local hometown news and entertainment.

Leveraging LeoNovus's Dark Core technologies to optimize an internal network for purposes of integrating the back office into front-facing personalized automated services lowers cost while adding new revenue sources from cloud services even if the room is empty. The ability to add just-in-time services through the browser adds immediate value and personalization for a better return on investment, while creating value for brand loyalty.

"Hotels now have the ability to leverage the Dark Cores or idle processors sitting throughout the property to run smart analytics in real time for pricing/room inventory optimization," said Dan Willis, chief architect of LeoNovus. "This drives better utilization of the property and its services to increase profitability. The LeoNovus architecture is extremely flexible allowing for easy updates, new services and cloud services across multiple properties within a branded chain."

Health care services and private networks

Hospitals have a need for computer power and communications. With regard to hospital care there is a desire to have in-room entertainment for recovering patients, including video on demand, access to news and the rest. Providing interactive and automated service requests, such as meal ordering, amenities, purchases and the rest, is also highly desirable in order to reduce stress on the patient, keep them engaged without adding additional burdens to a limited staff. LeoNovus can enable a multiplicity of services, including telecare applications such as using Wi-Fi to connect to sensor-enabled patches applied to the patient that are able to read patients' "vitals signs" on the hour and transmit that information to a chosen location such as a hand-held smart phone or tablet as well as a designated central workstation.

Hospital systems can greatly benefit from the LeoNovus Dark Core technology to optimize an efficient internal distributed data centre that is private and secure to handle sensitive patient information. It can also contribute scalable compute resources for faster turnaround on critical tests such as high-density imaging tests and analyzing genome data, as well as handling electronic storage of patient tests that are highly sensitive to privacy. These scalable computer resources can also handle billing, purchasing and other administration tasks, including running additional analytic programs for medical studies, cost analysis, including public health diseases that may be in need of a critical turnaround. This can streamline costs, improve care and add efficiencies all within a secure private network.

"LeoNovus is in a unique position to offer new technologies that allow established markets to monetize lazy assets, including adding new high-value services and programs easily through a connected network," said Gordon Campbell, chief executive officer of LeoNovus. "Delivering private cloud services lowers costs, drives efficiencies to enable better optimization of care and services, including the analytics to enable smart decisions. This is critical in today's highly competitive market place."

LeoNovus is committed to developing high-quality personalized products to deliver turnkey capabilities to multiple market segments. The LeoNovus SMART Media platform provides a flexible multidimensional approach that can service multiple vertical markets via an easy-to-use graphical user interface that can be customized to fit the market preference. The product includes an integrated, remotely managed system that keeps the LeoNovus enabled connected devices updated and free of viruses while delivering carefully targeted services and applications that are linked to preferences. In addition, LeoNovus is deploying its Dark Core technologies generating intelligent networks to improve performance and lower cost while generating new revenue streams by enabling cloud services at the edges.
