collin, if i hold a leap for 1.5 yr. on a stock is that a long term?
or are options always short term gain regardless of the time held?

also if i exercise my leap that i bot in open market, then lets say i sell the stock few weeks later, does my holding
period start when i bot the leap? or when i exercised the stock.

i know that cost basis includes the premium i paid + strike price.
