Yes but OAKT would not need to capture major market share in this area only a couple of decent contract wins will give this product the visibility and OAKT the credibility it absolutely needs to prove thier diversification strategy is bearing fruit.

>> Not very long ago, there is a rumor about NSM might acquire
OAKT because of its 3D technology but the problem is that OAKT's
business is fairly diversified and its core business is optical storage chipset. IMO 3Dfx will serve a much better take-over target if NSM ever need 3D technology for its all-in-one CPU solution. Of course, I will like to see OAKT being the target :o)<<

Yes I remember that rumour and I was very outspoken at the time that it would not come to pass. However why wouldn't NSM be interested in OAKT rather than 3dfx? Because OAKT is more diversified as is NSM, not only do you get a highly praised new product like "WARP5" but you get everything else "warts" and all. Plus 145M in cash. How much does 3dfx have? :)

>>OAKT's DVD ATAPI controller will eventually find its home in many
DVD-ROM. Namely Mitsumi, however currently major box markers are using
Toshiba. Will Mitsumi continues its success story since 4x CD-ROM? This is very important<<

I would think that Mitsumi is a given since they have been OAKTS biggest CD customer and it appears they have a good working relationship. However, at this point, its probably best not to make any more assumptions :)

>>At $7-$8, the downside risk is significant smaller than upside
potential. The lowest it can go (if OAKT's DVD controller fail) is $3 to $5 but the if OAKT continue to do well in DVD controller area then it can easily go back to $15 or even 20s or more if its AC-3/mpeg2 solution manages to steal some sizable share from CUBE as it did with VCD chips. I think OAKT should focus more in their marketing department. <<

I agree. Andy are you averaging down at this point?

>>I just did some kindergarden TA, OAKT is still very weak technically.<<

Kindergarden TA? Is this the only TA that OAKT deserves at this point?
:o)

Hang in there all OAKT longs. '98 has got to be a better year for us!
