Greg, I think you hit the nail on the head -- consumers want a cheap, but powerful computer. Remember the Macintosh? It was an expensive (and very powerful computer...oh they are still around and I wish I could afford one...), and look what happened to Apple. If this really was Sanders' plan all along, then it shows great foresight (although I am not sure he did it on purpose). By the way, I looked at Value Line today, and although the write-up is old (Oct 24), it appears that AMD is certainly undervalued at the current price (and that is a lot coming from Value Line). In addition, the Value Line analyst was not worried about the long term outlook for AMD - John.
