Wrong approach. You're not saying anything. Keep it brief. Say, "What does it mean to be the leader of the free world? He doesn't lead Europe, Russia, China, India, Britain, Japan. They're all independent sovereign nations who most of the time don't cooperate with US "leadership". So what do you mean by that hackneyed phrase?"

The Constitution already had been destroyed substantially by expedience throughout US history and has been rendered irrelevant by people who would do anything to pursue their own greedy ends even if that meant destroying the US. At the same time they levy that charge against their Constitutional opponents when the Constitution so used is also abrogated. Like them, Babs doesn't care about what the Constitution says as long as it doesn't rile his own constituency by taking away their Constitutionally guaranteed powers!

This is too far out. In 1933 Hitler wouldn't have believed he would do what he did in 1938. You never know what Babs might do because of his extremely weak moral character, and gross inability to face up to the truth.

it just getting to late and i'm too tired to continue.
i found your thread in 2006. i came here not knowing squat about economics. i admitted that the first day i was here. but i began to learn from you. from what you were saying. within 3 months it started to become an obsession. it got to where i was thinking about economics day and night. for 3 years it was like that. then in 2009 i had my own epiphany. as a matter of fact, two of them. if you remember i told you at that point that i no longer needed any guidance. i could find my way on my own.
i am grateful to you for all i've learned here. but you and i obviously don't agree on some things regarding economics. i know that's heresy on this thread. i know that you have great precision in your understanding. but there are times i think it makes you lose accuracy. an example would be your insistence that the uptick rule should be reinstated. you give all the technical details about how it works. none of which i'm qualified to argue with you about. but i can argue with you on principle.
the uptick rule would just be a little more bureaucracy. and if it goes away, the market will adapt. if it stays, the market will adapt. there will be someone who takes advantage whether the rule is there or removed. so why have it?
it's those few things, those types of things, where we disagree and i still feel i'm right.
so again thank for your help through the years.
