Bob, You have made a very informative review of COHU, and I thank you for that. The basis for further growth seems to be there, and I hope it comes to pass.
I agree with you on the LED area. The technology and market situation may very well be in the beginning of a very good growth stage. CREE and VECO are good examples of what is happening to stock prices for companies in the LED business. Since January, CREE has gone from 30 to 60 dollars a share. VECO has gone from about 27 to 40 dollars a share. Every once in awhile companies in the LED business release new product announcements that provide "new bang for the buck" which tend to push up stock prices.
As one who has followed COHU since I started on posting on SI, I think one problem they have is not enough support from the analysts. At present, and for many years, COHU has had only 1 analyst, Needham, that follows the stock and provides earnings and growth data. As a result, the only time new information on earnings and growth estimates are posted is after quarterly actual results. Then there is another "dead zone" on information until the next quarterly report. News articles on the company are few and far between. You do a much better job of reviewing the company makeup, products, business areas than the financial "press".
Keep up the good work!
