I'm not sure how you think the obamacare rates in CA are, in any way, a vindication of the program.

Perhaps you missed this line from the article:

"These premiums really underscore the big role that the tax subsidies play."

The basic problem is that you believe it is a GOOD thing when people aren't responsible for their own living expenses. My view is 180 degrees opposite -- every person in the nation who isn't disabled ought to pay for HIS OWN health care (and no one else's).

That California has come up with a plan that buys insurance for people at my expense is not an accomplishment, IMO.
