Good guy Brazil cancels almost $900M of African debt

When I say we know how to treat the negro nobody believes me.

It takes a big man to forgive debt, so if you're a country and you've just forgiven almost $900 million, then surely you are some kind of giant, at least for the purposes of this metaphor. Today, that giant is Brazil, which recently announced that it's going to cancel or restructure nearly $900 million in debt from 12 African countries in an effort to boost economic ties. It is of course somewhat strategic, as Brazil's trade with Africa has increased fivefold in 10 years, but it's still a pretty nice thing to do, we think. Now, would any enterprising country like to assume our mountains of debt?
