I don't know if anyone is still around to answer this. Lithium is very highly reaction. They think, lithium reacting with oxygen in the air will produce a battery which is rechargeable. What, convert the lithium compound back to lithium metal after recharging? Whatever became of this idea? I'm sure they've heard of chemical thermodynamics and things like delta H and E, S.
