His statement that he is "comfortable" with $1.15 for 1998 is a pretty bold statement to predict a year out, don't you think - particularly being new and after a bad Q3? I'm sure this COULD NOT have happened if he wasn't looking at strong evidence, i.e. signed contract, (probably handed to him as he took his coat off on the first day). ASND is sitting in the cat-bird seat, watch and see.
