Greetings Lee, and to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, << I believe that we should have a special love for the jewish people as they were chosen by God, for a witness before the nations >>. Please know for certain that the following is written in a spirit of love for the scriptures, and the brethren with seeking hearts, and is not intended to offend, but to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ. Beginning with Abraham ( Abrahamic Covenant ) God made a promise to Abraham that through him all the families of the earth would be blessed. The nation of Israel's primary purpose or " chosedness " was that through them God would enter humanity and fulfill His plan of redemption for all mankind. The Eternal Word became flesh as foretold in Gen.3:15. When Jesus was conversing with the Pharisees and Jews ( John 8 ) concerning of who He was according to the promise of scriptures, He sternly told them ( Pharisees and Jews ) , that unless they believed He was the promised messiah , they would die in their sins ( John 8:24 ). When Jesus died and ascended on high afer His resurrection, many , many Jews were converted to Christianity, ( read Acts ). The old covenant had become null and void and had been transcended by the new covenant. No longer did God deal with one specific nation , but that through Jesus Christ all nations had equal opportrunity to come to God, Thus the promise made to Abraham had been fullfilled. The name " Israel " literally means overcome by God. This was true in the old covenant ans it is now under the new covenant. The true " Israel of God" is comprised of all nations made up of jews and gentiles as the scriptures so teach. God has no more regard for the present apostate, antichrist nation of Israel today than He does of any other place on earth. The attention given this nation today is purely political and many christians have bought in to this lie. You refer to Zechariah 2, as being the future state of the present nation of Israel, RUBBISH , my dear brother, God is now dwelling in the midst of His people , the Church, the New Jerusalem ,( Please read Matthew 18:20 ). Have you ever considered that if God was speaking about the Present nation of Israel and how He would curse her enemies, then what about Germany and the Holocaust ?. No Lee, God was speaking about His " Israel ", a people overcome by God and made up from all nations, washed by the precious blood of the Lamb, Praise His Holy name forevermore. Lee failure to recognise or understand who the True Israel of God is in the Old and New Covenants leads to error which compounds itself in the books of the Bible, this is so evident in the book of revelation. The Church is now seated in heavenly places in Christ, the New Jerusalem, and He now reigns through His Body. If you want to look into the future please look back to Calvary, " It is finished " cried my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
