It appears that the lurch toward OpenStack is well underway. The IBM PowerVM line (Their current product in virtual machines) is being shutdown in Rochester Mn, Fishkill NY, Burlington Vt, and Austin Tx. I spent a few weeks at that division and they seem to be running with a very small crew. Nearly everyone working on the product was 55-60 years old and it looked to me that the product line will be retired along with the caretakers.
