Might have been said in the 13th century, The people didn't have the benefits of communications and science then (no printing press for one; few labs and conditions to conduct experiments, no microscopes or telescopes.)

That much of science came from religious people is a correlation; not a casual relationship. The churches RESISTED science, sometimes violently; they kept trying to find a way to explain science through their prism of myth and virtually unprovable fairy tale theories; they still do today.

Religion Inc. is a gigantic enterprise with colossal historical momentum, that needs to herd its sheep to keep the power. Sheep don't develop a capacity for genuine critical thinking -- they react to threats.

<<The belief that creation is the result of an intelligent law-making God is what drove the movement to establish science. To discover and understand God's laws for the universe, to think his thoughts after him as one said.>>
