Bold Ventures (BOL-V) halts drilling due to forest fire

May 31, 2013 - News Release

On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, a forest fire was spotted adjacent to the Muketei drill camp located in the Ring of Fire area of the James Bay Lowlands of Northern Ontario. Bold personnel and Orbit Garant drilling crews are currently housed in this location while completing a diamond drill program testing the Fancamp Exploration Ltd. claims under option to Bold (see Bold news release dated Jan. 7, 2013) and in turn optioned to KWG Resources Ltd. (see Bold press releases dated March 4, 2013, and March 5, 2013). Haveman Brothers Forestry Services Ltd., the camp operator, immediately responded with a prepared emergency response plan. This included, among other things, the evacuation of personnel and safeguarding of equipment, data and drill core. Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) fire suppression crews were notified immediately, and their quick response using ground and air attack crews has been successful in bringing the fire under control. There were no injuries or loss of data or equipment.

The Muketei camp is located approximately 4.5 kilometres north of the Noront Resources Ltd.'s Eagles Nest massive sulphide deposit.

The Company would like to thank the MNR staff and field crews for their timely and effective work in protecting the people and the camp. The Company also wishes to extend appreciation to Cliffs Chromite Ontario Inc. and Noront Resources Ltd. field personnel for the assistance that they extended to the people on the ground.

The program was nearing completion at the time of the fire. Bold management will make a decision concerning the resumption of the program upon receiving clearance from the MNR allowing for the crews to return to the camp and work to resume.
