The Church has always tried to find a way to bridge the "creator" of all, the all powerful and knowing God as engineer and gather, with science. It doesn't work. One system requires evidence to draw conclusions, its as simple as that.

Some religions do teach tolerance, usually liberal; they reject the literal biblical foundation but live by the Golden Rule and see Jesus story as as one about the Prince of Peace; not American Exceptionalism or assault weapons

I hate to tell you this but Arthur Brooks, among others, has done extensive social research on this. He finds liberal secularists are inferior in morality to conservatives, especially religious conservatives. That is, they're less generous, more likely to cheat on their taxes, donate blood less, even hug their children less:
