They knew when they bought the house that there was a historic designation pending...
I guess it hinges on that. The owners claimed that there was none until they moved in, and that her "fame" as a reality star brought the attention of the Preservation Society.

Arrogance aside, I wonder who really values that particular house as a "historical landmark." Obviously the rich couple doesn't, but does the Preservation Society really do, or are they just a bunch of busybodies minding other people's properties?


Busy bodies??? Wow. Quick way to undercut the importance of this country's history. In fact, its not that easy to get a bldg on the National Registry of Historic Properties. You can read about the requirements here:
