Zeus, slagging a group of people the way you have is the only thing that's ridiculous, IMHO.
There are pre-existing equations which were developed to allow for some degree of critical analysis with respect to the value of an exploration stage resource project. The variables, of course, are not yet known with a high degree of confidence, but when a range of variables is possible, one can reduce the uncertainty by tending to select variables at one end or othe other of the range, with respect to their value implications.
It turns out that when you fill in the variables using conservative estimates, i.e. those that minimize the value, the output valuation appears to be ridiculously high. I agree, that is another ridiculous thing, but it is not because a group of people analyzing the data have done something ridiculous. Nor is reporting these analyses ridiculous.
Whether this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will only be determined in hindsight, after the fact. However, I can report that no geo-scientist that I have spoken to has any idea how this deposit could even exist, it is so outside the realm of anything previously known to mankind. And yet, there it is.
