David Hottman – President, CEO and Director
Mr. Hottman brings nearly 25 years of experience in corporate finance and management of junior resource companies. Mr. Hottman is also a founding team member of Eldorado Gold (TSX, NYSE) and Nevada Pacific Gold (TSX) which was acquired by US Gold (TSX, NYSE) in 2007.
Gary Nordin - VP of Exploration and Director
Mr. Nordin is a leading exploration geologist with a proven track record of identifying and developing mining projects. For example, as a co-founding Director and Vice President of Bema Gold Corporation, he successfully identified significant open pit type heap leach gold reserves in the United States and Chile, including the Refugio deposit (6 to 8 million oz). Subsequently, as a founding Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Consulting Geologist of Eldorado Corporation Ltd. from 1990 to 2000, Mr. Nordin participated in the discovery and development of several important gold deposits, including the La Colorada Mine in Mexico (1.0 million oz.), the Kisladag deposit (8.0 million oz.) in Turkey, as well as others. Throughout his career Gary has amassed many contacts within the industry which will assist Portal in bringing significant oil and gas opportunities to the table. Mr. Nordin has served on the Board of Directors of several publicly listed exploration and mining companies, such as Nevada Pacific Gold before its takeover by US Gold. He is currently a Director of Portal Resources.
Robert (Bob) Wasylyshyn, B.Sc – Independent Director
Mr. Wasylyshyn serves as an Independent Director of Orestone Mining and has been involved in the mining and exploration industry in North and South America as well as Europe for over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1981 with a B.Sc. As a geologist he has been involved in all aspects of underground and open pit mining and mining exploration, from grass-roots exploration discoveries through to the successful re-start and operation of the Bjorkdal gold mine in Sweden. Most recently he served as the President and COO of Gold-Ore Resources. He has been a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia since 1993.
Rob Pease – Advisory Board
Mr. Pease has been involved with mineral exploration and mine development projects worldwide for the past 30 years. He had recently joined Richfield Ventures as a Director and Strategic Advisor which was acquired in 2011 by New Gold Inc. through a plan of arrangement valued at approximately $550 million. In 2006, Rob formed Terrane Metals with the intent to develop the Mt Milligan Gold-Copper project northwest of Prince George. Terrane advanced the project thru exploration, development, and permitting. Construction commenced in spring 2010, and Terrane Metals was acquired by Thompson Creek Mining in late 2010 for $700 million. Orestone's Captain property is situated 40 KM south of Mt. Milligan Mine.
