“FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) employees get
matching funds for their contribution, the amount of which, within limits, is
voluntary.”

Hmmm... Checking it out, it appears that when the FERS employee puts in 5%, the feds match that 5%. Pretty much what everyone in the private sector gets, along with social security, isn’t it?

Nice work if you can get it. (Though, for a fig leaf, not as generous as many state and local employee pension plans.)
