At the time, I had just started investing when I bought Corel. That was at the beginning of this year. I've only been involved with 5 other companies, but it's hard to imagine that there could by anyone more repulsive in the corporate world...or the WHOLE world...than "Dr." Michael Cowpland.

You've heard from the others on this thread about what kind of CEO he is. Let me tell you what kind of person he is.

First, he names his company after himself, which I can't stand. It's so hidden, I didn't find this out until a few weeks ago:
COwpland REsearch Labs...pretty sick, huh?

In another aspect, he might be considered for the BEST CEO of '97. This guy could go to a Turkish prison for his illegal trading and STILL get on national television and talk about how bright the future is. This would be fine, if the future REALLY WAS BRIGHT.

Thread members have raided him with mail, some concerned, others threatening torture, only for all to receive the same automated response about the bright future.

If you're not convinced yet, just check out this picture of his wife at the CorelDRAW Gala.

He's a dirty old man!

For the sake of sounding objective, how about Thomas Frist of Columbia/HCA.
