can someone answer this? You buy govt approved health insurance or pay a fine. If I pay the fine, I'm complying with the govt. Why can't insurance companies then sell any kind of policy to me as I've already complied with the law? I don't want the govt approved policy.....so I pay the fine.......how can the govt then stop me from buying what I want? How can the govt prevent insurance companies from selling a policy to people who have already paid the fine. How can the govt argue that it can prevent people from getting coverage after they paid a fine because they don't want the particular coverage the govt edicts? How can the govt. say it is better people have no coverage than paying a fine and then getting the coverage they want?
