Costco actually is more like the Sams Club part of Walmart. I think. I've never been in a Costco. There are only 3 Costco's in the Houston area but lots more Sams and ordinary Walmarts.

If Costco's model is so superior, it should succeed and force Walmart to move toward them.

Just for the heck of it, I looked at Costco and Sams Clubs in Seattle in case Houston was different. But there are more Sams Clubs than Costco's there too.
