Tom: Perhaps it is aging, perhaps it is true. Doesn't it seem like the "news" used to report actual events? Can you even begin to imagine someone like Walter Cronkite or Edward R. Murrow doing some of the stories that pass for "news" today? I still watch the History channel, Discovery, and a few auto sports. I don't claim to be an intellectual. Anyone that knows me knows I am not P.C. . But, I still have enough old fashioned sense to know when some journalist is throwing a shovel full at me.
