Strange. I worked in Wills and Estates, Powers of Attorney, Applications for Committeeships and Guardianships, for over 25 years. I thought I knew it all because, after all, I had witnessed first hand the struggles other people have gone through. I had all the answers. I walked them through it. They thanked me. They sent me flowers.

But that was at work. Now it's personal. I've had my 95 year old mother's Power of Attorney for years. And here I sit, utterly confused. Realistically, I think I should use it. Morally, I can't. How do you take over someone's life?

Turns out, I don't know anything.
