PRIMARY CONTRIBUTOR TO OBAMA INTEL BRIEFINGS...

The National Security Agency’s top-secret slide presentation detailing the PRISM system that collects the contents of emails, video and web chat, and photos states that PRISM is the biggest contributor of information to President Barack Obama’s daily intelligence briefing, known officially as the President’s Daily Brief (PDB).

In the last year, PRISM data was cited in Obama’s PDB 1,477 times.

“My assessment and my team's assessment was that they help us prevent terrorist attacks,” said Obama on Friday.

However, a recent report by the Government Accountability Institute finds that for the first 1,532 days of Obama’s time in office (up to March 31, 2013), Obama has only attended 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings.

Critics are likely to ask: if the PRISM program’s primary value is bolstering Obama’s presidential daily briefing, but he attends less than half of them, is the controversial program worth continuing?
