"The issue here is that they are doing this to everybody and not specific to any particular group"
Yup. If they were just doing it to Laytonville, I'd be worried. If they were doing it to NorCal, I'd be worried about whether I should be worried. Because they are doing it to every phone and computer in the country, I'm worried I'll get stuck with part of the tab for their shrinks as they slowly go crazy from informational overload.
"What security of this nation is violated by letting people know about the "blanket" surveillance program."
If I knew that, I'd have a security clearance. If DiFi tells me it's a severe problem, I believe her. She's earned her creds with me on security.
My phone was tapped in '82. I know how to behave. Now, they aren't even tapping my phone. They're just getting numbers I call and numbers who call me, but I still behave like it's '82. If I was worried about it, I'd buy a cell phone. Apparently, I can't play games without one. How about this trick? I'll call a friend who is at a pay phone (wearing gloves to hide his fingerprints, and arrange a secret meeting, like I don't know they can track a phone with GPS. Then I take the phone and stick it in a hitchhikers back pack, so they follow him. Ain't that cool? |
