Thanks for the links Milton. I agree Irish biotechs can do well - I would also look at Elan Corp (ELN) also based in Ireland - a larger player now - I began buying in 1990 at less than $5 and it is somewhere around $50 now. Like BIOI they actually are making a profit. Maybe BIOI will make the same trip.

Also, Worth magazine just sent out their year end issue looking at industry segments in 1998 - there are a lot of biotech developed drugs that are expected to be approved by the FDA in 1998 which should direct focus on the sector. They also said some consolidation will occur due to the number of companies. In all a positive outlook from my read.

Came back in this last week and bought 1,500 more shares of BIOI in IRA accounts - looks like a bargain here as it hovers around $6 IMO.

I'd have to agree with a statement earlier in this thread that a lot of the electronic/semiconductor companies are cheap - but a lot of uncertainty exists with regard to the impact of the Asia issues and the world economy - but biotech will roll on regardless of the economic outlook. My own personal feeling is that semiconductor equipment and technology companies overall will not be impacted in a major way - but that is just my feeling and others may disagree (hence why some have been hit so hard).

Seems to be a lot of bargains around now that did not exist 3 months ago - and from a value oriented growth investor's standpoint that is good since there is room for prices to move up - probably after tax selling beginning the first of the year, maybe sooner.

Best - Joe
