I also missed WSW this week Kent - they were down here in Dallas a week or so ago and used a building where I teach (SMU) to do the broadcast. I thought about going but went out to dinner instead and caught the replay on Sunday. Someone must have paid Louis a bunch of money to do the p.r. segment on the Dallas/FW and Texas economy. I can't recall ever seeing him do a similar show elsewhere.

In any event Worth has their year end issue out looking to segments in 1998 and their outlook. For semiconductor equipment sector it was positive as I recall - noted the change from 8" to 12" wafers and the costs involved in getting new, upgraded semi equipment.

I was also looking at Zack's last night and noticed a lot of semi equipment companies I follow are actually down slightly for the year (or only up a touch) - something Don has also pointed out with his spread sheets - but I think that we are in a good position here to realize some substantial gains in the next year or so. Of course, I said that a year ago here, and sooner or later I'll be right (at least I've learned something from WSW - if you say something long enough at some point it will happen) -gg-.

If you have a link to any of the positive articles please post them - always nice to have good news while the stock prices wallow in the swamp here lately. In my opinion as a value oriented growth investor there are a lot of very attractive companies at reasonable valuations around now that were not at these prices 3 months ago - which is positive since there is a lot of upside left in these companies and the market as a whole. I personally expect the small cap tech stocks to explode within the next 6 months upward - especially after the first of the year. Capital gains tax cut a real attribute as well as economy and technology growth in general.

We are in a new era of the small investor in these technology areas IMO, and people are making very ultraordinary gains in the technology area using on-line resources such as this and Zacks. People at work think I'm crazy investing in the companies like FSII and others since they have never heard of them (and half the time are clueless as to what the company does and why it is attractive) but I can laugh all the way to the bank, so far anyway, but unfortunately not with much of a gain from FSII to date. FSII is still recommended by quite a few analysts according to Zacks - although they can be clueless it is also a vote of confidence.

Best - Joe
