If they say everyone has thumbs that best work with a 4 inch screen, that's the only choice they'll give you.

Must be so grating to people who don't have thumbs :)

Back to reality, obviously, Apple is missing out on a large portion of the market who prefer larger screens. There's obviously plenty of room for growth when Apple can enter that segment. In the meantime, Apple is not going to panic and cut prices on the current iPhone. There are still a growing pool of buyers for the current product at the current price.

Additionally, Apple is having their cake and eating it too...

Apple has paid out $10B to App Store developers, $5B in the last year. That means they have an annual run rate of $2B for their own gross revenue (their 30% cut), or $4 per user, from apps alone. That in addition to the $300 they generate in hardware profits per user.
