The Mac Pro is very intelligent. It won't work out for everyone but its a design that is looking where it should look - towards the future.

I think it will work out for very few. It looks cool, and that's about as far as it goes. The reaction to the new Pro has been resoundingly negative in the Mac hardware forum of another site I read.

For likely the same price (or more) as the current Mac Pro, you'll get no internal expansion for hard drives (they will require an expensive external chassis), fewer RAM slots, SSD-only boot drive (read: small), a limit of 3 monitors, lack of optical drive, etc.

It's just not going to cut it for most professionals.

Real professionals, like those who use the current Mac Pro for video editing, will move to Windows boxes, and the diehard OS X users will go the Hackintosh route.

It's fitting that the new Mac Pro looks somewhat like a turd if laid on its side, because that's what Apple has done with it, IMHO.
