This was an interesting read, but I don't think I'll be buying Jenny Wells' new book. Reading this article did bring back some of the wild mania we were going through a year ago. With the current price of junior gold stocks, it seems much more than a year ago. Gold was so up one Christmas, and so down the next. Of course, part of the 'down' this Christmas in gold was due to the fraud. There's always a bright side I guess. Bre-X was 12 months or so of gripping entertainment. Jenny's article brings back to mind the main characters. While former presidents and prime ministers and company presidents and government ministers were flying left and right making deals to split up the spoils, a small group of 'miners' were laughing it up back at Busang as they carefully calculated what those in the outside world would need to hear next to keep their wild scam alive.
