Potentially, Y2K costs could carve into some of the rosy growth expectations for networkers. According to a survey by Cowen & Co. and Datamation magazine, two-thirds of companies will pay for their Y2K fix by removing money from network or other IT expenditures, rather than by increasing their overall IT budgets (portions of that study were released in September).
