hello dalroi,

(1) i have not sent out any reads or read much of anything for the past 4+ weeks because was and am too busy, but my faculties remain okay, and though this am Message 28948967

<< ... (vi) which then puts the hong kong and usa government on the spot, w/ beijing able to hang back at the mo per one country nuke-backing a freedom island, and sporting two very convenient systems ... >>

(2) now china has spoken news.yahoo.com

and astutely spoken as predicted, wisely hanging back to watch and brief.

(3) hong kong also does not have to do much of anything until and unless either team usa does something stupid, like seeking young edward's extradition or until young edward runs out of money

(4) issues and observations

(i) team usa cannot hold hold forever as its alleged criminal investigations tick the boxes

(ii) young edward may not run out of money anytime soon, even as his hk-stay visa may run out sooner (another 60+ days)

(iii) hong kong does not have to do much until either team usa seeks young edward's extradition or young edward seeks asylum or fails to seek asylum and visa runs out (at which time he can seek asylum anyway)

(iv) the next move would be to either team usa or young edward or hong kong, and hong kong can hold out the longest so probably shall

(v) am guessing, but as and when and if either team usa or young edward makes a move re extradition / asylum-seek, it would be hong kong's turn to twist, and if i were the hong kong government i would simply leave it to the hong kong court to determine what is to happen

(vi) i am guessing the court (the chosen judge would probably be either ethnic indian or british or australian) would rule in young edward's favor

(vii) beijing would say, "one country two systems, and the applicable system has decided"

(viii) team usa would have to swallow hard, because hong kong's court is, after all the rant and rave, very independent

(ix) hong kong and beijing governments would look super, young edward would do whatever and hang out in lang kwai fong, and

(x) team usa would either keep quiet or look more than hypocritically moronic for longer

in the mean time china can step up probing of team usa networks just for the statement of it

and then, and only then, onward to sino-usa discussions re cyber security, etc etc, except that the moral high-ground shall have shifted

(xi) given that the usa state department experts must know the above possibilities, team usa would only seek young edward's extradition if (a) capitol hill stupid triumphs over common sense, and (b) team usa is prepared to address a bunch of 'most wanted' in the usa who are on china's list

just a guess

but what fun

let us watch and brief
