It is designed for it to sail through the Senate and then crash in the House to let the president go and campaign in 2014 on this issue

Not doubting that Cruz said that, but I will believe it when I see it.

And the fact that Cruz could suggest that the immigration bill would be a plus for the democrats and Obama in 2014 is all the evidence one needs to prove deadly left-leaning bias in the mainstream media.

The bill is a disaster, and nothing more than a repeat of failed immigration policy (just ask those who warned Reagan against trusting the border-security promisers). No 'reform' of immigration is even necessary. If this country simply decided to enforce laws already on the books, rather than authoring ludicrous, pandering new ones, half of our problems would be solved in a heartbeat.

The fact that the majority of the citizenry is in favor of 'immigration reform' (when none is needed), and they look positively on this monstrosity of a bill, is incontrovertible evidence that the news media are in bed with the left, and the average American consistently refuses to ferret out the truth about anything.
